Afternoon at the Park

The other day the weather was so nice, so Adam and I took the kids to the park to play. I am loving Texas in the Fall/Winter. Today it is 72 degrees, and tomorrow it will be 75. Perfect. Anyway, just thought you might like to see some pictures of our adventure. I seriously have the cutest baby boy. I have never seen a cuter one :0)



I have no idea who these other girls are. Lydia makes BFF's everywhere we go. It's a gift she has. She played with these girls the entire time, and so they are in her picture.

Long Time No See

So it's been forever since I posted. We went to Utah for Thanksgiving. We have been looking forward to this trip since we moved to Texas! We couldn't believe it was finally here, and we were actually on our way there. We drove straight through the night on the way up there. We were just so excited to see everyone that we didn't think we could wait in a hotel overnight. So straight through we went and we seriously almost drove our poor kids insane with the time in the car. But we made it. Actually we went a day early and surprised everyone. It was so fun. I could barley contain myself. I felt like a little kid at Christmas. Sometimes I would just have to laugh out loud to release some of my giddy energy. I LOVE surprises!!! We had the most fun there. Mostly we just visited and played catch up with old friends and family members. I was sooooo good to see everyone. We had so much fun, it was hard to leave.
Anyway, that is where we have been and then getting resettled back into life. Posting will resume right away. Thanks Mom and Dad for such a fun trip!!! Mom and Dad Hudson, we really missed you and wished that you had been able to come. We love both of our families so much! I have the most wonderful parents in the world, and I couldn't have asked for a better family to have married into. We feel so much love from both sides of our families. That was one of the things that I was most grateful for at this Thanksgiving. We can't wait to see y'all again.

Trick-or-Treat

Here are some pictures of Halloween and Trick-or-Treating. We had some friends over for dinner. Adam carved our pumpkin and I cooked spaghetti. It felt just like home again, except we haven't figured out what Adam will throw our pumpkin off of.

Lydia was Raggedy-Ann, (again) for Halloween. Gabby decided to be a strawberry and I had a pumpkin costume that fit AJ perfectly, so that's what he was.

This is Lydia's "boyfriend" Ethan Greenmun. They seem to be the hot item in the ward. I'm not kidding, everyone comes up to me to talk about how cute they are together. Of course I was the last one to know about it. I heard it from the primary chorister. Hello, what's it going to be like when she's a teenager? Yikes!


This is Gabby's little friend Audrey. They were so cute on Halloween. They would repeate "trick-or-treat" over and over at each house, and then start yelling "you're welcome" as they were walking away. After Audrey left, Gabby continued her good-byes at each house screaming, "I love you, see you tomorrow!"


There is not much to say here, except, how cute is this? Pretty Darn!!!

Pumking FHE

OK so there are a lot of pictures in this post, watch out!
For FHE this week we carved pumpkins. The girls loved getting all gooey and slimy and drawing faces on their pumpkins. Fun for the whole family.

YUMMY!!!



This was my pumpkin. I wanted to learn to make fondant frosting and decorate cakes. This was my first attempt. Don't look too closely, the girls helped with the face. (lots of hands in a small space). The real goal here was to learn to do the fondant frosting. I had a friend teach me. Thanks Minda. I made the frosting (fondant) and she did the decorating. (except for the stem, I did that). It was pretty easy. I am excited to try again, and do it all by myself.

My Birthday

For my Birthday Adam (and the kids) gave me a new set of pots and pans. I have been using second hand, mis-matched dishes since we've been married. So this is my first set of brand new cookware. I love to cook, (most of the time) and so I am very excited to use these. However they are so pretty that I will have to take a few deep breaths before I plunge them into sticky, oily, colorful food, and hard water.

This is my new candy pot! I asked my mom where I would get a heavy thick pot to make Christmas candy this holiday season. She said she wasn't sure. Then lo and behold, she sent me one for my birthday. Not just any pot, but her pot. She gave me her pot so that I could make candy for my family and feel a little closer to home this Christmas. This is a very secial pot! Thank you Mom! I love it!

This is Adam's lovely trophy that he received for his amazing skill at horseshoes. They had a tournament at work. They first had to play doubles. He and his partner were victorious over them all. For their victory, they each received a gift card to a local restaurant. They then had to play each other for the total grand prize. Had I known what the grand prize was, I would have counseled him to bow out gracefully. But instead Adam killed him, and proudly brought home his trophy! It gives me the creeps to look at it's little feet and claws, and to feel it's fur. It is a real hind end of a raccoon. The bosses custom made this for the horseshoe event, and I am forced to conclude that they are all a little deranged. But I am proud of my husband! ! !

Hello Family and Friends! OK so after much persuading from friends -I think it's called "peer-pressure :)- we finally have a blog! (and it only took Leah a couple hours to set it up and explain it well enough for me to attempt to navigate it on my own. (I'm kind of a dork). I really appreciate her help! So I am an official blogger and will try to figure this out. Right now I feel a little nervous, like it's my first day on a job and I don't want to look stupid, but I think that it is inevitable. I will probably make many mistakes. I am not very technologically minded, but I am excited to give this a whirl and am excited to keep up with all of you better. So here we go, and good luck to me! ! !

The girls spent all summer in their little back yard pool. I am will have to say that one of my favorite things about Texas is that the weather is still warm. Here it is October and there are days when they are still able to play in the water. They used their pool so often that it now has huge cracks in it and will be retired and a new one purchased for the summer of 2009. Both of the girls have the cutest tan line on their backs. We're all about the sunscreen, but even still, their skin seems to soak up the sun really well. I love it, and think it's so cute! (does that make me a bad mom?) :)

AJ is 7 months old this month. I can't believe it! He is doing this inchworm crawl thing. I'm not really sure. We keep waiting for him to take off with his crawling, but yesterday he pulled himself up on the furniture and just stood there. Now I am thinking that he is perfectly capeable of crawling, he just prefers to "inchworm" his way around the house, and maybe will focus on walking instead. How cute is he? Pretty Darn!

New Addition to Our Family!

I am happy to announce that we received a new addition to our family last week. We now have our first piano! After 6 and a half years of begging my husband, he finally bought it for me. Now for family home evening we sing around the piano and the girls love to dance while mommy plays.

Something I wasn't expecting was Adam's protective attitude about the piano. If the girls try and play polly pockets on the keys he is right there reminding them the rule of "NOTHING ON THE PIANO! ! !" It surprises me daily how much he cares about it. Not for the monetary value, but because he knows how long I have waited to get one, and how much I love it! I think it's cute how he appreciates how special it is to me and takes such good care of it.
