Sad Day

We found out today that we're not going to have a baby in September like we thought. At my appointment we found that our sweet baby has passed away. I was only 13 weeks along, but I am so sad. I/we were all so excited about this new baby coming, but I guess Heavenly Father had other plans. I am thankful that I can be sad and feel the spirit, knowing that it's OK, all at the same time. I am so thankful for the Gospel and that our family is forever. I really feel the love of the Lord today and peaceful purpose in all things. I love this family that Adam and I are building and I am so grateful that they are all so healthy and such wonderful spirits.

New Table (It's about time)

So we finally have our new table! We bought it way back in November. We wanted it for Thanksgiving. But the store gave us an incredible deal if we were willing to wait 2-3 weeks for them to deliver it. So we decided that it would be worth the money to wait, and we would still have it for Christmas dinner. However, they forgot to tell us it was back ordered and that it wouldn't be available until the 2nd week in January. We were not very happy about that, but the store was very gracious about it and threw in 4 extra chairs for 50 bucks a piece, (normally 130 dollars a piece). So we decided to be patient again.

When we finally got the call that the table and chairs were in and set up a delivery date, I decided to make a huge turkey dinner, because I didn't get to serve a big dinner during the holidays like I wanted to. Well anyway, they didn't come and they didn't come, and we finally had to eat our turkey on our tiny table. Just as we finished, the delivery guys showed up. They began to set things up, but as they got the table up, and we pushed the chairs up to the table, we discovered that the chairs were pub chairs and not counter high chairs. That means that they were way too high and didn't fit at out table. OH WE WERE SO MAD!!! So we sent them back, and had to reorder the proper chairs, with the promise that they would be in with in a week. (Ya Right). In the mean time, (3 weeks) we have been standing at our table or sitting in "traditional" chairs that are so low that the new table is up to our necks.

So tonight, after 3 months of waiting, we finally had the correct chairs delivered and were able to sit down as a family and eat dinner. It was wonderful!!! Here is our new table!!!

So here is is. Right now as we have it, it seats all 6 of us great!!!


I know what you're thinking. I'm having a baby this year; what will we do then? Well not to worry, we just throw in a leaf and Presto! Seats up to 8!


"But what", you ask, "if you have company? "Where will you put your guests? "On the couch to eat off their laps?" Well I say to you , "no way Jose!" We just throw in another leaf and WAH LA!!! Seats 10. We love our table. It will last us for forever, through our growing family that's for sure. We will all be able to sit together as a family, for a very long time!!!

Christmas Eve

So it's a little late, but better late than never, right? This was our Christmas Eve Nativity. It was very rough around the edges and I think a little sac-religious. But we gave it a valiant effort. The boys played all the parts except for Mary and Joseph, and they kicked and screamed the whole time. AJ didn't want to dress up, except for his boots, so he played all his parts a little bit country. Did you know that Gabriel was a cowboy? We didn't either.


Gabby was our Mary, and her time aboard the Donkey was short lived.


All the kids wanted to ride the Donkey (played by Daddy). They stormed him all at once and then I think there was crying for the following 8 or so minutes. Who came up with this tradition anyway???


Lydia played Joseph. As you see, she is trying to be Joseph with a splash of Paris Hilton.

Random Pictures and Quick Catch-Up

So, our computer crashed a few months ago. We are not technology buffs and so we let it go for a while. Here are some random pictures of some of the things that happened while we were out of service and not posting.

HALLOWEEN: The boys were Thing 1 and Thing 2 and I was the Cat in the Hat. (a weak one, but one none the less). Lydia was Snow White, Gabby was a butterfly and Adam was a 1920's gangster. We had tons of fun!!!












These are the sweetest kittens that our cat Missy had in October. We since have had 2 get sick and pass away. So sad, but they have been so much fun!



Here we're all at the Circus. The kids loved all the the amazing things we saw. I don't thing AJ stopped clapping the entire time. However, we won't be able to go back when the boys are older. The "women of the circus" are so NAKED that I think it's probably inapropriate for young men. Adam had to look away a lot!!!





This is our sweet Tate's first Birthday! I cannot believe my baby is 1 already! This year went by the fastest of any so far. He was so cute! He loved all his toys and dove right into his cake. He has been the most amazing little person that I have ever met; always happy and laughing. He has been the easiest baby so far and my little treasure. I always say that if we ever have a baby better than Tate, they will have to be born potty trained. :) We love you so much, Tate, and are so happy that you are a part of this family. Thanks for choosing us!!!

Prizes

Adam was out of town this last weekend in Alabama for business. When he's gone, the kids and I go to Peter Piper Pizza, (for those who don't know, it's like Chucky Cheese). We all think it's fun! Anyway, we made out like bandits with the amount of tickets we won from the arcade games. When we turned them in for prizes, the kids all wanted these funny glasses. I took these silly pictures of them. My kids are so funny and cute. I love being a mom!!!

4th of July

The 4th of July is HUGE in El Paso. The neighborhood is alive and the driveways are full of people watching the fireworks. We live right outside the city limits and so the "big" fireworks are allowed. It's so much fun to see them up close. The next morning it looks like a war-zone with garbage and ashes and soot everywhere. It was so much fun for our family!!! Sarah is still here from Utah, and we had our friends, the Stevens, over for fireworks. Poor AJ couldn't handle the late night and crashed, so we put him to bed. We missed you buddy. The other kids had so much fun, even Tate did really well with all the loud noises. Here are some pictures.
