White Sands

Here are pictures of our trip to White Sands with my brothers who were here to visit. We had so much fun. White Sands is on my list of favorite things about the El Paso area.

Bic

I like to buzz the boy's heads in the summer. Much cooler. This year when I did it, my brothers, John and James were here to visit. After I finished, John said to me, you should bic AJ's head. I just laughed and said "No, Adam would kill me!" For some reason Adam thinks it's OK for himself to be bald, but doesn't like when others are, particularly his sons. But as I got thinking about it, I thought that it would be fun to try, and risk the anger of my husband. So here are some of the pictures that we took of AJ getting his head shaved to the skin.

P.S. When Adam got home he cried out, "What did you do to my Sons???!!!" But then he was a really good sport about the whole thing, as long as I didn't do it again this summer. ;-)

Tarantula

A couple of days ago I told Adam that it was funny that we have been living here for pushing 3 years and we had never seen a tarantula out in the wild. I am deathly afraid of spiders so I don't really want to see one, other than to say that we have seen one. Anyway the next morning I was out for a run and came across a dead tarantula being eaten by ants. I had to run about 9 feet around and out into the road to avoid it, just in case it was still alive and wanted to destroy me. :-) I thought to myself "oh good, now I have seen one! We can move from El Paso having seen all that I wanted to". I even sent Adam a text and told him it was time to go, I had seen a tarantula.

Well the very next morning, (today)I was still sleeping and Adam was getting ready for work. He noticed that the cat was fascinated with the sliding glass door and it looked like she wanted to go outside. So he went to the door, opened it and in scurried a huge tarantula!!!!! YIKES!!!!!! Adam came rushing into the bedroom and ripped off my covers and said, "did you say you wanted to see a 'LIVE' tarantula?" I could see by the light in his eyes that he was very serious, so I jumped out of bed and cautiously made my way to the family room where the spider had begun to climb the wall. OMGOSH!!!! It was so scary. The cat kept trying to play with it. I was so scared it would run under something where we couldn't get it. I stood afar off and couldn't stop my nervous marching in place and squealing with terror. We woke up all the kids to show them, (including my brothers who are still visiting for another couple days).

Thankfully Adam captured it and then took it out to the desert where it should live a long full life???? But I did not to be away from him, our protector. We all followed him into the bathroom while he finished shaving and putting in contacts and got his shoes on. I did not want him to go to work this morning. It took a long time for me to relax after my adrenaline rush. I still feel the creepy crawlies and very nervous. I can't believe that disgusting thing just felt like it could walk into my house. If he came in, what else do you think is in here???? We've got to move SOON!!!

Talent Show

We had a family talent show. Who knew that there was so much exciting talents lurking within the Hudson group? It was so much fun to watch the kids (and Uncle Lance) perform for us all. Don't you think that the Hudson family is so beautiful? I mean, not one goofy looking person in the whole bunch.

Ping Pong and Shooting

The Hudson family LOVES ping pong!!! We had a double elimination tournament with every single family member, from the smallest all the way up to Grandma and Grandpa. Everyone was surprisingly good, so it was a very exciting tournament! The table was in the garage so everyone would bring their chairs and set them up to watch the game. After a while the chairs just stayed there for the spectators.

Grandpa Mark has been playing ping pong his whole life and is AMAZING at ping pong!!! Adam had never beaten his dad before, and I know that it is something that he has always wanted to do. So He did his best and in the end was the only one who remained undefeated and took title! I don't know why I didn't take better pictures of the whole tournament. I completely missed Adam's games. :( But our sweet niece, Hannah made Adam a trophy for his victory so he could always remember the first (maybe the only time) he will ever beat the Amazing Grandpa Mark!






The boys took their guns out shooting one morning. We had been meaning to buy a gun for a while, but with the reunion coming up,it was the perfect motivation to finally purchase one. So this was the first time that he was able to shoot it. The guys saved water bottles for days to shoot, and Adam had some targets that he got with his gun, so they had plenty to shoot at. He had a blast!!!

Movie Night

Aunt Lynn and Uncle Lance brought a movie projector to our family reunion. So every night the kids would bundle up, get doused in bug spray, grab their blankets and snuggle in to watch their nightly flick outside in the back yard at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was so much fun for them!!! It was so much fun for us too as it gave all the grown-ups time to visit and play games and get to know each other. Thanks Lance and Lynn, what a great idea that was!!!!

Horseshoes

AJ watched his uncles -Andy and Lance- playing horseshoes one evening at our reunion. After a few minutes he joined in. I don't think he realized that he's only 3 and not quite in the same league as the big boys. But his uncles were so gracious and allowed him to throw every time they did. AJ really enjoyed himself!!! Thanks guys for letting him play. It means a lot to his mommy. ;-)
